My Greatest Growth Statement
In my time at DRSS I have grown most in my ability to build myself a foundation of success. I have learned skills and techniques that have taught me how to keep myself accountable and be able to achieve goals I set for myself. This will not only allow me to find success as I continue into higher education, but these skills will allow me to grow and thrive in whatever professional endeavors I pursue in the future.

This is what my RAHA's (Reading, Annotating, Highlighting, Answer) looked like before I really took the time to learn how to do it properly.

This is what a page of a text book reading looked like after I learned how to properly RAHA. My annotations were actually useful and helped me better comprehend the material.

This is what my RAHA's (Reading, Annotating, Highlighting, Answer) looked like before I really took the time to learn how to do it properly.
The first skill I learned helped me better comprehend the content I read. Using RAHA (Reading, Annotation, Highlighting, and Answering) I was able to create a reading experience that was interactive and a text that I could quickly refer back to important information while studying. This will help as I move on to higher level of education and have more complicated reading and longer readings to learn from. CLICK HERE TO VISIT MY PAGE ON GROWING IN COMPREHNSION SKILLS
The next skill I grew in was my ability to set goals. Making goals that are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Reasonable, and setting a Timeline) I am able to create not only a goal for myself in any area of my life, but I am able too make a plan that will help me reach it. As I move into the next chapters of my life this skill will help me find success as I know how to set the stepping stones to get there. In my freshman year I grew in my ability to take useful notes that I could refer to when studying. Knowing how to take useful notes will not only be useful in college, but also in the professional world. Walking away from meetings with notes that truly help you remember what happened and what you need to do next extremely important. CLICK HERE TO VISIT MY PAGE ON NOTE TAKING
In my sophomore year I grew my confidence and I learned how to always find a way to support my team. This skill and confidence will be vital to my future success. Understanding that supporting roles are just as important as leadership roles is needed to not only become a good team member, but also to be a good leader. Finally in my journey to learning how to build myself a foundation for success was learning how to not be intimated by large projects or something that seems like a lot of work. In my junior year I lead a mental health awareness/ suicide prevention campaign that involved presenting to every student in the school and creating a large art installation that would be viewed by anyone who entered our school building.
This at first seemed like a huge project to take on and I wanted to walk away from it out of fear many times, however I stuck with it and it was well worth it. I spent many hours during and after school working extra to make the project as good as possible.
All of these moments of growth have helped me develop the skills I need to set my self up for success whether it be academically or in the professional world. Learning how to comprehend and take notes on important information has given me the tool and power that comes with knowledge. Learning how to make goals and plans to reach them while also growing my confidence enough to go after those goals will be extremely useful in every aspect of my future.
